A true pack hound from when he could first keep up with the adults dogs.
Served his apprenticeship and is now one of the “core” Pack Hounds with
the Eden
Valley Beagle Pack and is also a Pack Hound with the Beagle Club of
South Australia. 50 kms
in a day is nothing to this dog, the tougher the conditions the more he
revels in it. In 2005 & 2007 Rupert won the Pack Hound of the year Trophy
with the Beagle Club. In 2006 Rupert won the Runner up Packhound of the
year trophy.
When he feels like it he is also a true showman in the conformation
ring, with many in show and in group wins to his credit, particularly
under specialist judges. He gained his title at 16 months old.
The 6th
Beagle National 2003 Rupert won his Open Dog Class /Opp Open in Show,
the Judge was Mrs. Ann Philips (UK) Her critique is as follows:-
“Browne
& King’s Ch.
Goldengum
Riots End, strong, masculine hound built on solid lines, so sound
covering the ground and showing himself off well, good legs and feet,
well boned, plenty of muscle and second thigh, difficult to fault and
unlucky to meet the challenge and reserve winners on such good form.”
Inaugural winner of the Top Conformation and H
unting Hound at the 6th
Beagle National.
In winter 2004 he has commenced the quest for his tracking dog title
after passing his Qualification Test and Test 1.
In
September 2006 he won Best of Breed at the Royal Adelaide Show.
Active, self assured, confident, aloof, energetic, loving, happy,
dominant are all adjectives that describe this little beagle hound.
